Assistive Equipment

Many specialist manufacturers produce a wide and developing range of devices to help people overcome the effects of hearing loss: The bad news is that too few partially hearing or deaf people discover what is available, and so are unable to access the possible benefits.

Hi Kent offers a wide selection of tried and tested equipment, at very competitive prices.

How do I get equipment?

You may order from any Hi Kent Centre, directly from our web site through the
HiKent Online Shop, or simply by phoning or writing to us.  Shipping charges are indicated on the Price List.  Please note that Hi Kent can ship goods within the UK only.

You can try before you buy:

If you are unsure what to buy and can get to a Hi Kent Resource Centre you will be able to try many of the items for yourself and discover which best suits your needs, then place your order.

Equipment on permanent loan:

Some items of assistive equipment are obtainable through your local Social Services.  Just which items are supplied will depend on local policy and criteria, and will usually involve an assessment visit to your home.
Hi Kent works in partnership with Kent County Council and Medway Council Social Services to offer assessment or referral for the provision of equipment to people living within the authorities' areas.

What if I am disappointed with the performance of the item of equipment?

When you purchase personal assistive equipment from Hi Kent we offer a 'no quibble' return policy covering the 28 days following the purchase - providing the item is returned, as new, in its original packaging.

Please note that this does not apply to doorbells or other major mains operated appliances.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

Installation

Hi Kent offers a comprehensive installation service throughout Kent, details are available on request.

When equipment provision is sanctioned by Social Services they normally bear the installation cost.
